Insbridge Treats A Variable With A Value Of Zero And NULL As The Same (Doc ID 2392216.1)

Last updated on APRIL 27, 2018

Applies to:

Oracle Insurance Insbridge Rating and Underwriting - Version 5.2.0.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Insbridge handles NULL values in numeric-type Result Variables (integers, decimals). Insbridge casts all NULL values to zeros, which works in calculations. However, Insbridge also does this casting in IF-condition statements. So, Insbridge treats a variable with a value of zero and NULL as the same thing. We can’t check for NULL values, even when 0 is a valid value we would like to use. How do we differentiate between NULLS and zeros?
