ERROR: INVALID DATABASE When Connecting Remotely Over VPN (Doc ID 2396845.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to log in P6 Professional Client to a remote database over VPN (Virtual Private Network)
the following error occurs.

ERROR

ERROR: INVALID DATABASE

The database you are connecting to is not a P6 Professional or P6 EPPM database

STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Log in to the P6 client on a machine using VPN to connect to a remote database server.
  2. See error pop up.
  3. Log in with the same machine on the office network without VPN, and the database connects without issue.

BUSINESS IMPACT

The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, users cannot log in to the P6 client.
