Why Can't Overquota Notifications Be Followed through the Mail.log?

Why can't over quota notifications be followed through the mail.log?
Some users have reported that they have received postmaster messages for being over quota, but they look like abnormal messages. There is no record of these messages in the log files, for example, in the mail.log_* log files.
Here is an example of one of these messages:
Subject: Overdraft notice To: userF.userL@domain.com Dates: Tue, 8 May 2018 12:27:00 +0200 From: Mail Administrator <Postmaster@domain.com> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text / plain; charset = us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit userF.userL@domain.com, The size of your mailbox has exceeded 90% of the allowed value. Disk usage: 286MB Number of messages: 115
