Not Able to Bring up RRE and BRE Processes Using Encrypted Password After Changing the Password (Doc ID 2403627.1)

Last updated on JULY 05, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Pricing Design Center - Version 11.1.0.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

One user is not able to bring up RealTime Rating Engine (RRE) and Batch-Time Rating Engine (BRE) processes using encrypted passwords after changing all the passwords of Billing and Revenue Management (BRM), Pricing Design Center (PDC), Cross Reference (XREF), and Pipeline Manager (IFW) .

Following steps were followed:

1. Changed the database passwords of BRM schema, PDC schema, XREF schema, and IFW.

2. Updated the "pdc password" in WebLogic where PDC is deployed.

3. Started PDC and it is up and running, the user is able to login to PDC and create pricing objects.

4. Encrypted the new passwords using the encrypt utility at $PDC_BRM/apps/bin as follows:
    Go to location: $PDC_BRM/apps/bin
    Run the command: ./encrypt

Here if the user gives the passwords in text format it is working. But the user does not want to enter passwords in text format as per security policy. How to resolve this issue?

Expectation: RRE and BRE processes can be started with just the PDC key and it should not prompt for other passwords.
