Promotion Throws Fatal Error when Submitted For Conflict Checking

Promotion throws Fatal Error when submitted for conflict checking.
When a Dept level promotion with many exclusions is submitted for conflict checking, Retail Price Management (RPM) is throwing a fatal error:
com.retek.platform.exception.RetekUnknownSystemException: javax.ejb.EJBException: No message was received for: '240' seconds; nested exception is: weblogic.rjvm.PeerGoneException: No message was received for: '240' seconds
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a promotion component detail at Merchandise Hierarchy level and select a Department and a couple of zones - where the department has a very large number of SKUs.
2. Under item exclusions, create a Price Event ItemList using a .csv upload and click on create exclusions.
(Exclusion List has thousands of SKUs.)
3. Select all the component details and submit for approval.
