Unable to Edit / Delete Personal Address Book (PAB) Group Entries (Doc ID 2411706.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 06, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Convergence - Version 3.0.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On Convergence 3.x, with any browser.

Users are unable to Edit / Delete Personal Address Book (PAB) Group Entries created in Microsoft Outlook.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Login to Outlook as a test user, say 'userA'.
  2. Create a new Distribution List (DL) named as 'Test' and add some contacts in it.
  3. Now login to Convergence with the same user (i.e 'userA').
  4. The user can see the DL created above as a PAB group and the contacts added. However, the user cannot perform actions such as 'Delete', 'Remove', 'Edit' etc., with such contacts and the group as the specific action buttons are disabled.

Upon verifying the Convergence iwc.log* and the Directory Server access* log files, one can observe the differences as stated below:

For the contacts which the user is able to use the 'Delete' / 'Edit' buttons,  notice the following message in the iwc.log file:

Notice the difference where the search result is null / zero for the problematic entries which has the search string including 'specialgroupid'.

Changes

There is a limitation in WABP to support these actions on GALMember/ExMember contacts.
