DCD Cannot Read BOOLEAN Profile Tags (Doc ID 2415386.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 26, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Convergent Charging Controller - Version 6.0.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On Oracle Communications Convergent Charging Controller(OC3C),  6.0.1 version, the Diameter Charging Driver(DCD) cannot read BOOLEAN profile tags.

The DCD documents say for the profileFormat parameter ,the allowable values are:

 STRING
 NSTRING
 LNSTRING
 INTEGER
 UNSIGNED64
 RAW
 TIME
 BOOLEAN
 ARRAY

However, if one define an Attribute-Value Pair(AVP) of type BOOLEAN, he won't be able to start the SLEE up properly and it throws the below Error:

ERROR
-----------------------

2. Start the SLEE.

If one set the data type as INTEGER, he will get a semi-random number each time as it reads off whatever bytes lie beyond the Boolean data.

Here in this case ,it requires an additional Profile Tag of type integer to copy data values into to be sent across DCD. Presumably writing to Boolean tags also doesn't work.
