Information in this document applies to any platform.
When attempting to launch Visualizer, via the P6 Professional Tools menu, the user is prompted for login credentials instead of allowing direct login. After entering login credentials, the following error occurs:
Unable to connect to the database. Please run the Database Configuration tool to contact your administrator.
In addition, the following error is generated in the %TEMP%/Visualizer.log file:
Warn Connection initialization failure for alias P6_TEST, username XXXXXX
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Login to P6 Professional.
2. Select Tools > Visualizer from the menu.
3. When prompted (which should not occur), enter the login credentials.
4. Note the reported error.
