A Pull-Down Data Element Which Has a Value Setup to Default in the Data Definition Does Not Become the Default Value on a Form (Doc ID 2421456.1)

On Unifier : Version 17.12.3

A Pull-down Data Element (DE) which has a value setup to default in the Data Definition (DD) does not become the default value on a form as expected.

Example Design:
Data Element Name: User Category
Data Definition Name: User Category
Data Definition Data Set:

Row Value Label Status Default
1 user User Active  Yes
2 key user Key User Active  
3 core team Core Team Active  
4 observer Observer Active  

After adding the Data Element to the User Attributes form and creating a new user, the User Category field on the user creation form should display the 'user' value by default.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Create the same DD as mentioned above.
2. Create a new DE with the new DD.
  - DD Name: User Category
  - DE Name: UserCategory
3. Add to User Attributes form -> Complete/Deploy the design.
4. Company Workspace -> User Administration -> Company Users -> New
Result: the Pull Down field does NOT default to the value that it should.

The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, when new users are created, the default value for 'User Category' is not displayed and users have to manually choose the value using the drop-down.
