Symptoms
ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
--------------------
When attempting to display embedded HTML (for example, HTML IFrames) from external web domains within an Analysis column or static text object using OBIEE 12c, the following behavior occurs when attempting to view the analysis:
- If using Internet Explorer
- The following error is generated in the embedded HTML:
- This content cannot be displayed in a frame
To help protect the security of information you enter into this website, the publisher of this content does not allow it to be displayed in a frame.
- This content cannot be displayed in a frame
- The following error is generated in the embedded HTML:
- If using FireFox
- The embedded HTML does not display and no error is generated.
Note:
If viewing the console tab from browser developer tools (F12 on keyboard, then click console tab) and reloading the page, the following error is generated:
Content Security Policy: The page’s settings blocked the loading of a resource at http://<server>/ (“default-src http://<server>:<port>”).
- The embedded HTML does not display and no error is generated.
- If using Chrome
- The embedded HTML does not display and no error is generated.
Note:

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR

For embedded HTML (for example, HTML IFrames) within an Analysis column or static text object to display successfully when using OBIEE 12c.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
--------------------
The following steps can be used to reproduce the issue:
- Create an analysis using embedded HTML
- Example - Weather Feed in OBIEE | Reference, http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/primavera/OnlineLearning/WhitePapers/WeatherFeed_OBIEE.pdf
- Attempt to view the results of the analysis
- Note the actual behavior above
- If using Firefox or Chrome:
- Click F12 on keyboard to load the browser developer tools
- Click the console tab
- Click F5 on keyboard to reload the browser page
- Note the "Content Security Policy" error which occurs.
