Calculated Amount for Final Month Is Not Correct When Updating Enrollment Product End Date (Doc ID 2425445.1)

Last updated on JULY 23, 2018

Applies to:

Oracle Health Insurance Enterprise Policy Administration - Version 3.18.1.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When the end date of an enrollment period is changed, the premium calculation for the final month in the period is not correct. The calculated amount is correct for all other months and the full enrollment period of one year.

The expected behavior is the premium for all months and the full enrollment period is calculated correctly.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
Precondition:
• Policy with a contract period from 13 March 2018 – 12 Marchb2019 with one member enrolled on ProductA with an enrollment from 13 March 2018 and no end date. Invoice frequency is
‘contract period’.
• ProductA has no premium, an admin fee (Adjustment) of 387 AED per year and 5% VAT

Step1:
• Create Policy
• Run premium calculation:
The result is the amounts are correctly calculated. There are amounts for 13 calculation periods. Amounts reflect the correct Admin Fee (387) and VAT amounts.

Step 2:
• Set end date of enrollment to 26 Feb 2019
• Submit policy
• Run Generate Mutations
• Run premium calculation

The result is
o Amounts of the first 11 months are unchanged (correct)
o Amount for March is removed (correct)
o Amount for Feb holds the amount for the entire period 13 March 2018 – 26 Feb 2019 (not correct)
Note that the calculated amount is correct for the entire enrolled period (= 351 days)

Step 3:
• Set end date of enrollment to 3 March 2019
• Submit policy
• Run Generate mutation
• Run premium calculation

Result is
o Amounts of the first 11 months are unchanged (correct)
o Amount for February is recalculated correctly (correct)
o
Amount for March is recalculated but does not give the correct result.
The calculated result does not match the entire enrolled period as it did in step 2. May be the amount for 13 Mar 2018 – 31 Jan 2019. That is the entire enrollment period without Feb and Mar.
Not correct.

Step 3:
• Set end date of enrollment to 12 March 2019
• Submit policy
• Run Generate mutation
• Run premium calculation

The result is
o Amounts of the first 12 months are unchanged (correct)
o Amount for March holds the entire amount for 13 March 2018 – 12 March 2019 (not correct)
Note that the calculated amount is correct for the full enrollment period of one year.
