Update Baseline Resets Baseline Project Labor Units To Zero (Doc ID 2426664.1)

Symptoms

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR

Running Update Baseline with the option "Budgeted units and cost for activities without resource assignments" checked zeros (0's) out the Budgeted Labor Units.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR

The baseline's Budgeted Labor Units show the same as they did before the baseline update.

STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Create a project with 1 activity.
  2. Assign a Labor Resource to this activity.
  3. Create a baseline.
  4. Assign the baseline as the Project Baseline.
  5. Note that the BL Project Labor Units are equal to the Budgeted Labor Units, 40 hours.
  6. Give the activity an Actual Start and Actual Finish.
  7. Navigate to “Maintain Baselines”.
  8. Navigate to “Update Baseline”.
    Check the following:
     Project details
      Project UDFs
    Specify the activities to include:
      All activities
      Update existing activities already in the baseline
      Run Optimized
  9. Click on ‘Update Options’. Select the below ‘Update Baseline Options.
      Budgeted units and cost for activities without resource assignments
      Update existing resource and role assignments
      Budgeted units and cost
  10. Click on “Update”.
  11. The Baseline is scheduled for update.
  12. The Baseline Update jobs is completed.
  13. Refresh the data.
  14. Note that the BL Project Labor Units are now 0.
