Applies to:
Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing - Version 2.5.0.1.0 to 2.6.0.1.0 [Release 2.5 to 2.6] Information in this document applies to any platform.
Purpose
Multiple performance issues have been reported by customers using CC&B on Internet Explorer 11. These issues vary from slow and sluggish response to user actions to complete stall/freeze/unresponsiveness of the browser. In most cases this eventually leads to a browser crash.
While there are a few exceptions, most of the performance issues have been reported on Internet Explorer 11 and have not been observed on other supported browsers (please review Certification Matrix for Oracle Utilities Products <Note 1454143.1>)
Scope
Customers have reported performance issues on Internet Explorer 11 when using CC&B. These issues typically involve users (mostly Customer Support Representatives) to navigate to various pages of the product continuously for hours, without any browser downtime and user latency. These user navigations vary from very quick/instant user interactions to repeated navigations. Below are a few examples:
Users navigate continuously to various pages performing various CCB tasks while switching through different tabs and populating the entity fields using pop up screens such as Date/time picker, search pop ups, etc. All user operations involve minimal to heavy entity updates.
Users perform repeated navigation while performing various CCB tasks while switching through different tabs and using application History to navigate to various pages.
Users switch through various tabs continuously after loading an entity.
In most of the use cases, Internet Explorer 11 does not respond as expected and throws random Javascript errors which cascade into further errors in the application.
