Error 505 When Trying To Update An Existing User Via CSV File Import -or- Web Service Call updateuser (Doc ID 2431818.1)

Symptoms

On : Primavera Unifier 16.1, 16.2, and 17.12, Unifier User Mode

When attempting to update an existing user via web service call or CSV integration, the following error occurs.

ERROR
-----------------------

Error Status 505 - Field uuu_user_workphone has invalid characters, for username: user_name

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Create User with special characters
  2. Set the Title as N/A
  3. Set Phone as +61 12345678 etc
  4. Save the User
  5. Try updating the user through CSV (Errors Out)
  6. Try updating the user through WebService - UpdateUser (Errors Out)

BUSINESS IMPACT

The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, users cannot be updated via web service calls or via CSV Integration.
