PI Doesn't Support Both Explicit And Explicit Authentication In One Instance (Doc ID 2438390.1)

Last updated on MARCH 28, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Convergent Charging Controller - Version 6.0.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

In Oracle Communications Convergent Charging Controller (OC3C) the Provisioning Interface (PI) provides a mechanism for manipulating data in the database using an Application Programming Interface (API).

validateAuthStrings is a useful parameter in situations where a pool of connections is used for access to PI web services and the clients wish to be able to use any open connection for whichever command they wish execute next, regardless of which one they used for the preceding request.

Disabling the validateAuthStrings parameter setting enables implicit authentication, but it means you can no longer operate any clients with explicit authentication and auth tokens.
