Workflow Email Steps Completing In ERROR java.net.SocketException: Connection reset

On : 126.96.36.199 version, Email, Production,
When attempting to run custom workflow EBS Full Download workflow that includes email steps,
the following error occurs.
2018-09-24 04:10:48,627 CDT [WFProcess_28] FATAL workflow.general: Exception reading response
javax.mail.MessagingException: Exception reading response;
nested exception is:
java.net.SocketException: Connection reset
The issue had happened once , with the following steps:
1. Log into Workflow Manager
2. Run EBS Full Download workflow.
3. It failed to send an email for EP_LOAD_MAIN_09 step. It did sent for the other email steps.
4. Choose Continue to the task received and the emails were sent further.
The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, users did not received and email for for EP_LOAD_MAIN_09 step.
Customer is looking for root cause in order to prevent this issue to happen in the future and not to have data lost for future runs.
