Error Occurs When Renaming Folder With More Than One Sub-folder In Convergence (Doc ID 2454101.1)

Last updated on MARCH 26, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Convergence - Version 3.0.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In the Safari browser (the exact error displayed varies per-browser but the problem is also seen on Firefox and Chrome), when renaming a folder that contains two sub-folders the UI shows an error in the rename dialog box which says:

"undefined is not an object (evaluating 'item[this.idAttribute]')"

The rename itself does succeed but the error is generated when trying to remove the old nodes from the folder list in the left pane. Both the old and new names can be seen in the folder list until the browser window is refreshed.

In the dialog, clicking "Cancel" dismisses the dialog, but clicking "OK" causes the rename to be tried again which then displays the error as "[NONEXISTENT] Mailbox does not exist". This latter error is produced because the first attempt at rename *did* succeed, so trying to rename it again does not find the original folder name on the messaging server.

This can reliably be reproduced by creating folders such as these below:

Folder
Folder/SubFolder1
Folder/SubFolder2

Then "right-clicking" the folder name "Folder" and selecting "Rename Folder" and pressing or clicking "OK". The problem described above should then be seen.
