Need Generic Pop-up Message Instead of the Grocery-Specific Message on the Item Attribute Confirmation Dialog (Doc ID 2460400.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 26, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Retail Merchandising System - Version 16.0.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Actual Behavior
---------------

Find that RMS displays the wrong pop-up description when you change any of the following:
ItemServiceLevel, ProductClassification, BrandName, GiftWrapInd, ShipAloneInd, OrderType, SaleType, ContainerItem, DepositInPricePerUom, AipCaseType, PackageSize, PackageUom, ConstDimenInd, WasteType, DefaultWastePct, WastePct, PerishableInd, RetailLabelType, RetailLabelValue, HandlingSensitivity, HandlingTemp

The pop-up says:

"Child items exist for this record. Do you want Grocery attributes records to default for these child items? Note that existing records will be lost."

The message means that changes made on Parent (Style) or Child (SKU) level will be transferred to one level below (Style->SKU or SKU->Bar code/UPC).

The pop-up is misleading to a non-grocery retailer such as a fashion retailer.

Expected Behavior
-----------------------
The pop up should be following:

"Do you want to overwrite the children information with the parent's?"

And in polish:

"Czy zastąpić informacje w elementach podrzędnych informacjami z elementów nadrzędnych?"

Steps to Reproduce
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. ItemLevel < TranLevel
2. User changed one of the following:
ItemServiceLevel, ProductClassification, BrandName, GiftWrapInd, ShipAloneInd, OrderType, SaleType, ContainerItem, DepositInPricePerUom, AipCaseType, PackageSize, PackageUom, ConstDimenInd, WasteType, DefaultWastePct, WastePct, PerishableInd, RetailLabelType, RetailLabelValue, HandlingSensitivity, HandlingTemp
3. Item has children or grandchildren.
4. Submit the changes.
5. Notice the message in the Confirmation dialog.
