Goal

How to discontinue large lists of styles & SKUs in RMS?
During the normal course of business, a buyer decides to discontinue a list of 200 styles or SKUs for 'all stores'. In RMS, the items to be discontinued are not actually ranged to every store. E.g. The items are ranged to a total of 250 stores, but each item is ranged to different stores among the 250. Need to change the item/loc status to discontinued for each of the 200 items, but only for the existing ranging records. If used Scheduled Item Maintenance to discontinue an item list for all locations, it creates new ranging records with a status of 'C' for stores that aren't already ranged.
This then ranges the discontinued items to all the stores that were not ranged initially and creates a large quantity of unnecessary item/locations clogging up the system.
