Custom Validation Function Is Not Applied For Cost Change Induction (Doc ID 2463680.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 03, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Retail Merchandising System - Version 16.0.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On : 16.0.1 version

Custom validation function is not applied for Cost Change Induction.
While approving cost changes on RMS screen, it is possible to specify a custom function to perform retailer-specific validations.
However when the cost change is uploaded from template via induction, this custom validation is not called and so specific rules are not enforced.
In other cases (e.n. for Item template where while item is being approved) the custom validation function is applied.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Define a custom function
  2. Add that into CUSTOM_PKG_CONFIG table
  3. Try to approve a cost change from UI, cost chnage will not get approved if custom validation fail
  4. Create a new Cost change using the Induction process the custom function is not called.
