Blocking Sessions During Purchase Bundle Causing Lots Of Performance Issues (Doc ID 2464434.1)

Symptoms

On Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management(BRM), 7.5.0.13.0 Version,

The user observes continuous blocking sessions on BRM production database during purchase bundle, which is causing lot of performance issues and causing lot of failures in orders/payments flow.

Below is the SQL which has been identified as a problematic query.

Account structure in user system.

Account has 1 Billinfo 
1 Billinfo has 13000 balance groups 
1 Billinfo has 13000 Services 

There are 20000 Products 

At account level, user has balance monitoring enabled, so whenever REL loads the CDRs this balance_monitoring always get updated with the $ value. When blocking issues is observed, stopping RELs reduces the total time for each blocking session. 

There is a long running SQL query below which takes more than 4 minutes to process the request. This query is generated from Siebel/CRM->AIA->BRM during bulk/purchase order processing.

User performed the below actions to improve the performance, but issue is not resolved.

1. Stopped REL Loading 
2. Stopped Balance monitoring 
3. Rebuild indexes on BAL_GRP_T 
4. Ensured no major operations are being performed at this time. 
5. Repushed all the failed orders which failed with EOF Errors.
