In a single tenant installation of Oracle DB that is currently hosting only Oracle Life Sciences Argus Safety.
Noted that from time to time, Oracle demands a huge number of IOPS (Input/Output Operations Per Second) from the underlying storage.
This occurs whether users are active in the system or not.
At times this was recording extended periods of 20,000 IOPs, until a QOS policy was applied to storage limiting IOPS to 1500 maximum.
