Error 'The element <Name> in the <Calendar> element with <UID>=#### has invalid data' When Attempting to Open an Exported P6 XML file in MS Project (Doc ID 2471642.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to open an .XML file in Microsoft Project that was exported from P6, the following error occurs:

An import error occurred.
The element <Name> in the <Calendar> element with <UID>=#### has invalid data.
The calendar name does not exist.  Click a calendar in the list, and then press Enter.

Clicking OK for that error may result in the following error:

There is a problem with the calendar name. The calendar name does not exist. Click a calendar in the list, and then press Enter.

 

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. In P6 Professional, export a project to MS Project XML format.
  2. Attempt to open the file in MS Project.
  3. View the reported error(s).
