Updating Baseline Completion Date Earlier Than Baseline Start Date (in Project Plan / Roadmap) Results in an Unexpected Message for Baseline Duration in Instantis EnterpriseTrack (Doc ID 2474769.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 27, 2019

Applies to:

Instantis EnterpriseTrack - Version 17.3.2.0 and later
Instantis EnterpriseTrack Cloud Service - Version 17.3.2.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The alert / error message "Please enter a valid number greater than '0' for Initial Planned Duration." is misleading when updating Baseline Completion Date earlier than Baseline Start Date in Project Plan / Roadmap.

If a user enters a back date in Baseline/Planned Completion Date then the Alert message should display a valid message, such as "Baseline Completion Date is not a valid one" and not refer to Baseline/Planned Duration.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Open a Project
  2. Go to Roadmap
  3. Display columns Baseline Start, Baseline Completion, and Baseline Duration
  4. Select Edit All
  5. Update Baseline Completion date 1 day before Baseline Start date. Save
  6. Result: misleading alert message about Baseline Duration
Please enter a valid number greater than '0' for Initial Planned Duration.
