Rapid Planning How Does Order Modifier Fixed Days Supply Work? (Doc ID 2477084.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 19, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Rapid Planning - Version 12.2.6.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

On 12.2.6 Planning Engine in Production

Users are running an unconstrained RP plan and see that Fixed Days Supply(FDS) does not seem to be honored properly.  In ASCP the planned order will be put in the FDS bucket at the date where the supply is truly needed.  Example:

ItemA has FDS = 10 (working days)
There is demand on day 3, 4, 6 and 8 for qty = 1 each total = 4 for the FDS bucket
ASCP will put the planned order to be due on day 3 since that's the first date the supply is needed
RP is putting the planned order for supply to be due on day 1 instead of day 3.  Is this by design?
