Network System Does NOT Open When Running MetaSolv Solution in Dual-monitor Environment (Doc ID 2480829.1)

Symptoms

The Network System does not open when running MetaSolv Solution in a dual-monitor configuration. The application appears as if it is not doing anything (cursor hourglass, canvas does not render, etc).

 

Recreation Steps

1. Configure dual-monitor environment like below

Primary Display = Built-in Display / Position = Right

Secondary Display = {MONITOR} / Position = Left

2. Open MetaSolv Solution on primary display (R)

3. Inventory Management

4. Network Systems

5. Toggle from Network Search to Network List by clicking the stacked white rectangles icon on the left

6. Expand Ethernet

7. Scroll down and locate an In Service network

8. Double-click the In Service network to open its Network System Design

9. Drag the application to the secondary monitor (L)

10. Right-click on the canvas and select "Close Network System"

11. Double-click any other Network System and note it opens the previously closed Network System Design indicated by the name in blue area "Network System Design - NS NAME"

12. Right-click on the canvas and select "Close Network System"

13. Double-click another Network System and note it opens same Network System Design that was initially closed on the secondary monitor

14. Right-click on the canvas and select "Close Network System"

15. Close the Network System Design window

16. Click Network Systems to re-open the Network System Design window

17. Expand Ethernet

18. Scroll down and locate the initially opened/closed In Service network

19. Double-click the network to open its Network System Design and note the application does nothing. Actually, none of the Network Systems will open.

20. Drag the application back to the primary display (R)

21. Double-click the same network to open its Network System Design and note it now opens. Any of the Network Systems will now open and open the proper one as well.
