Log4j.conf Settings Not Recording Group Chats in Xfer.log (Doc ID 2483900.1)

Symptoms


The log4j.conf settings are not recording group chats in the xfer.log.

  Referring to: Setting Logging Filter for Specific User in Log4j Does Not Support Regular Expression Matching (Doc ID 2382440.1)

Scenario:

Consider 20 users logged into IM chat. Debug logging is being sent to the xfer.log on each system. However, it is not recording all group chats for certain users while it is recording for rest of them.

For example, it records all chats for User1 and User2 - but not for User3.

In the log4j.conf file, you see:

  

User2 and User1 each get recorded on both group and one-on-one chats.

User3 is third on the above list and gets recorded in one-on-one chats.  However it doesn't get recorded in group chats.

Is it based on the order in which the settings are done (as seen in above snippet) ?
