Symptoms

The Managed Server log is filled with numerous JMSExceptions

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. From an nms-admin xterm on the NMS server:
    Action any.pub* ejb debug HLM_TRACE=1
  2. Launch a "Web Workspace with Web Switching" client and login
  3. From an nms-admin xterm on the NMS server, send the client a message:    Action -java [user name].* display_message "Hello world"
  4. Check the managed server's .out file.
    There will be 6 or 7 lines for the message.
  5. Unplug the network cable from your desktop.
  6. Kill the Web workspace client (via the Task Manager)
  7. Plug your network cable back in.
  8. From an nms-admin xterm on the NMS server, send the client a message: Action -java nms4.* display_message "Hello world"
  9. Check the managed server out file.
    There will be a group of lines for the message.
  10. From an nms-admin xterm on the NMS server, send the client a message:  Action -java nms4.* display_message "Hello world"
  11. Check the managed server out file.
    There will be the JMSException
  12. From an nms-admin xterm on the NMS server, send the client a message:   Action -java nms4.* display_message "Hello world"
  13. Check the managed server out file.
    There will be another JMSException.
