Symptoms
End users are reporting that access to the Primavera Contract Management application log in screen is providing the error, "Webpage cannot be displayed". Upon checking the server where Primavera Contract Management is installed to, the services that are created to start Primavera Contract Management as a windows service fail to start. When opening the startWebLogic.cmd file to check the configuration, the following error is reported:
Parsing Failure in config.xml: Invalid byte 3 of 4-byte UTF-8 sequence
Changes
The server was hijacked. Opening the config.xml file will provide information showing whom hijacked the server along with information on whom to contact for the ransom as ransomware was inserted onto the server.
