Spanish Date Format Not Accepted When Loading Item Ods File To RMS Tables (Doc ID 2493099.1)

Symptoms

If default language is Spanish when attempting to upload items using Spanish date format in the .ods file, the following error occurs:

The expected date format must be in the format DD-MON-YY. For example December, in Spanish is DIC while in English is DEC. When loading the ofds file first into the Staging tables and then to the RMS tables, it accepts in the abbreviated form for Spanish. But, when loading the ods file directly to the RMS tables, the process is not accepting the month of the abbreviated form for Spanish (only accepts in English).


The issue can be reproduced with the following steps:

  1. Open Retail Merchandising System (RMS)
  2. Go to preferences and chose Spanish language as default and save.
  3. Download an existing Item from RMS, using the Item Induction Download functionality: "Artículos" -- > "Descargar artículos desde RMS"
  4. Edit the ods file in order to create a new Item. Review the VAT information including the Activation Date with the date in the format DD-MON-YY. (for example: 10-DIC-2018)
  5. Upload the ods file using Destination" = "RMS Tables": Artículos -> Cargar Artículos desde archivo , Destino: Tablas de RMS
  6. Press button “Cargar”, and then go the “Estado de Revisión” to check for the status of the upload. The upload into the RMS tables has failed: "Procesado con errores"
  7. Check the errors, by selecting the related Process and by clicking on the “Ver emissiones" button.
  8. Notice "El formato de mes o fecha no es válido." related to "echa de vigencia" column.
  9. Upload the same file, this time using "Staging Tables" option: Artículos -> Cargar Artículos desde archivo , Destino: Tablas Temporales
  10. Press the “Cargar” button then go the “Estado de Revisión” to check for the status of the upload. The upload into the Staging tables was done with success. ( “Procesado correctamente" )
