Symptoms

When attempting to update Activity Owner field values using Global Search and Replace, the following error occurs:

ERROR:

Job Status shows "failed".
The job log contains: Updating field "ActivityOwnerUserId" failed for Activity "<Activity ID>" in Project "<Project ID>" because For input string: ""

STEPS:

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Sign in to P6 Web.
  2. Browse to EPS Classic View.
  3. Select Actions, Global Search and Replace.
  4. Select the Project(s) that need updating (already has Activity Owner values assigned).
  5. Create a Replace Criteria of Activity Owner = <new Activity Owner>.
  6. Errors displayed on the Global Search and Replace job.
