Incorrect Age Calculation In Argus Due To Leap Year (Doc ID 2495705.1)

Last updated on JULY 13, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Life Sciences Argus Safety - Version 7.0.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Oracle Life Sciences Argus Safety Version 7.0.3 and later

Patient age is not accurately calculated after importing and accepting E2b.

Steps to Repeat:

1. Prepare an E2b R2 xml file for import containing the following tags e.g

<reactionstartdate>20150204</reactionstartdate>

and

<patientbirthdate>19560211</patientbirthdate>

<reactionstartdate> Target UI field:Case Form / Events / Event Information / Onset Date/Time
<patientbirthdate> Target UI field:Case Form / Patient / Patient Information / Date of Birth

2. Import the file and accept the case from E2b Pending screen.

3. Open the case and check:

Case Form / Events / Event Information / Onset Date/Time = 04-FEB-2015
Case Form / Patient / Patient Information / Date of Birth = 11-FEB-1956
Case Form / Patient / Patient Details / Age = 59 years

4. The auto-calculated age is not correct because the patient is born on 11-FEB and the Onset of the Event is 04-FEB so at the time of the event the patient was still 58 years old.

Conversely, If manually create a new case and add:

Case Form / Events / Event Information / Onset Date/Time = 04-FEB-2015
Case Form / Patient / Patient Information / Date of Birth = 11-FEB-1956

The auto-calculated value of Patient Age is 58 years old which is correct.

Case Form / Patient / Patient Details / Age = 58 years
