Scheduled Concurrent Request MSCXPO Publish Order/Returns Forecast Is Cancelled After Previous Run When Recalculate Parameters Is Enabled (Doc ID 2498357.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 03, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Collaborative Planning - Version 12.2.6 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On : 12.2.6 version, Publish/Receive Transactions in DEV:

Users are on 12.2.6 and have applied patch 26969891 - 12.2.6.3 - Mandatory Cum Patch for 12.2.6 / R12.SCP_PF.C.Delta.7 - Users are trying to schedule ‘Publish Order/Returns Forecast’ request in Collaborative Planning for publishing ASCP Planned Orders to CP. While scheduling the request they are populating parameter ‘Automatic Versioning’ as ‘Yes’ and ‘Last Version Published’ parameter is also populated. For each subsequent (automatic) request scheduling/ submission they want ‘Last Version Published’ parameter to auto increment and hence they are checking the ‘Recalculate Parameters’ checkbox while scheduling request. Along with that they also want to auto increment the date parameter and hence checking ‘Increment date parameters each run’. When they are scheduling the request this way they are finding that automatically submitted request is getting cancelled with following error in MSCXPO: Publish Order/Returns Forecast:

ERROR
-----------------------
End of log messages from FND_FILE
+---------------------------------------------------------------------------+
Resubmission of request 7361172 has been cancelled.
The following required field does not have a value: Plan
Resubmission of request 7361172 has been cancelled.
The following required field does not have a value: Plan

Note: In screen shots the scheduling frequency is given as every 5 mins for replicating the issue. Actually, the request will be scheduled weekly (min. once a day). Publish Order/Returns Forecast request is scheduled with ‘Automatic Versioning’ as ‘Yes’ and ‘Last Version Published’ parameter is also populated.
‘Recalculate Parameters’ and ‘Increment date parameters each run’ check boxes were checked.
Request ID 7361171 was scheduled and ran. Request ID 7361172 got auto cancelled

When they are scheduling program with ‘Recalculate Parameters’ as unchecked then subsequent requests are getting submitted successfully and also completing normal but ‘Last Version Published’ parameter is not auto incremented for automatically submitted requests. They want ‘Last Version Published’ to be auto incremented for automatically submitted/ scheduled requests. They checked further and found the default setting of ‘Plan’ parameter may be causing this issue.
Default Type – Profile
Default Value - MSC_RP_CP_PLAN_ID

For testing they changed the ‘Plan’ parameter definition as below and then scheduled the program with ‘Automatic Versioning’ as ‘Yes’ and ‘Last Version Published’ parameter was populated. ‘Recalculate Parameters’ and ‘Increment date parameters each run’ check boxes were checked.
Default Type –
Default Value -

This time subsequent requests got submitted successfully and also completed normal and ‘Last Version Published’ parameter got auto incremented for automatically submitted requests. Thus, we believe ‘Plan’ parameter definition of this program is creating problem when ‘Recalculate Parameters’ checkbox is checked.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Schedule the concurrent request Publish Order/Returns Forecast with parameter ‘Automatic Versioning’ as ‘Yes’ and ‘Last Version Published’ parameter is also populated.
2. When running this errors as noted and cancels the next request to be scheduled
