Information in this document applies to any platform.

Oracle Communications Network Charging and Control (NCC) version 6.0.1, the Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) Gateway is a feature in the GSM Mobile Application Part (MAP) protocol that can be used to provide subscriber functions such as Balance Query.

Transaction Capabilities Application Part (TCAP)  is used as transport protocol in this case.

In the case where a session times out while waiting for customer's input, USSDGW ends the session by sending a "returnResultLast processUnstructuredSS-Request" message.

This behavior can cause an issue as some handsets do not display text sent in the current operation when user input is still being waited for.

In order to achieve a correct display of the 'timeout' message on the users handset, USSDGW is required to send a "unstructuredSS-Notify" inside of a TC-END message.
