Xitem Non-Sellable Item Expects A NULL Value For ORIGINAL RETAIL (Doc ID 2504512.1)

Last updated on APRIL 13, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle Retail Merchandising System - Version 16.0.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

When using xitem to create a non-sellable item the original_retail field is still being defined in the table Item_Master with value 0.0 even if not provided in the message.
This then causes a problem when performing a XItemMod, to update for example the item description, since at this point RIB fails with the following error:

If the same operation is performed via the RMS screens, when the item is created the field original_retail is not populated. So this differs from RIB XItem behavior.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Use XItem to create a new Non-Sellable item in RMS.
  2. Update the same item using XItem to update the item description;
  3. The update message will fail and end up in RIB-Hospital with the below error: ORA-20001: Field should be NULL.:ORIGINAL_RETAIL returned by program unit CORESVC_ITEM.PROCESS_CHUNK.:
