RO: Questions About Partition Dimension and Default Hierarchy Level in RO (Doc ID 2506609.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 16, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle Retail Replenishment Optimization - Version 16.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

1.  Oracle Retail Replenishment Optimization (RO) documentation says that the partitioning level in the RO configuration is PGRP, which is labeled as 'Group' and it is recommended that this is not to be changed.
However the GA script which builds the RO domain (i.e. references division (DVSN) as partition dimension and uses that as default value. This way the domain is built with dvsn partition dimension.
Can users change the partition dimension other than PGRP. If so, how to do it?

2. OPTG hierarchy (Optimization Group) is there in the hierarchy configuration of RO but it is not used in any of the workbook or any rules for RO. How important is this hierarchy for RO?
