Error During Dgraph Startup, Endeca::DataLayer::CorruptStorageException (Doc ID 2508214.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to start the dgraph, the following error occurs.

ERROR
-----------------------
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'Endeca::DataLayer::CorruptStorageException'
  what():  CorruptStorage Exception: Corrupt storage:  version 8 wants missing generation generation.v2-v6

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Login to experience manager.
2. Navigate to EAC console and start the Dgraph
3. Error is thrown in the log with core generation

BUSINESS IMPACT
-----------------------
The issue has the following business impact: Due to this issue, users cannot query that dgraph for expected results.

In the Dgraph.log we see the following error, followed by a stack trace
