NextModeBestDay FunctionNot Working (Doc ID 2508479.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 04, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Insurance Policy Administration J2EE - Version 10.2.0.31 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On : 10.2.0.31 version, General

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
The NextModeBestDay function in Math does not work in V10. This function computes a date having the same month and year as the given date (value1) and with the specified day (value2) of the month. If the specified day causes the new date to roll over into the next month, the day is decreased to the last day of the month. For example, value1 = 2/15/2007 and value2 = 30, result is 2/28/2007. value1 = 7/4/2010 and value2 = 15, result is 7/15/2010. Note that this was already coded, just not exposed.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
The NextModeBestDay function should work in V10.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Configure a Math Variable with a TYPE=”FUNCTION”, a DATATYPE=”DATE” and the value NextModeBestDay( SampleDate, 30 ), where SampleDate is a Math Variable that resolved to 2/15/2018. The code will not recognize the function.

BUSINESS IMPACT
-----------------------
Allows for the calculation of correct billing and/or Policy dates without elaborate intermediate Math.
