Error:" "No access to file: c:\officesuite\filename.xlsx" when user checks out an Excel sheet (Doc ID 2513536.1)

Symptoms

If Microsoft excel instance is already running and the user checks out an Excel sheet from PLM (which will open in another instance of excel) the following error occurs.

Error

 "No access to file: c:\officesuite\filename.xlsx"

Steps
 
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps on WIN7, Office 2010:

  1. Open Excel-document <filename.xlsx>  from e6.2.1
  2. When the file of this document is opened in Excel Open other instance of  Excel: Start -> All Programs -> Microsoft-Office -> Excel
  3. When you try to save a new sheet via "Save to Agile PLM" the following error message is shown:
      "No access to file c:\officesuite\filename.xlsx. "

 

With Microsoft Word this issue does not occur.
