No Search Option For MDM SP Characteristic On The CASE (Doc ID 2513799.1)

Last updated on JUNE 03, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Utilities Customer to Meter Base - Version 2.6.0.1.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On : 2.6.0.1.0 version, Meter Data Management (MDM)

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
No search option for MDM Service Point (SP) characteristic on the CASE

MDM SP and other MDM entities can be added to CASE/Other Customer Care and Billing (CCB) entities as characteristic but search option is disabled as search negation key is not defined for MDM FK references.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
It is expected that MDM would be able to search in order to populate the field correctly instead of relying on navigating back and forth and remembering exact code.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
Admin - F - Foreign Key and search for D1-SP to review and see that Search
Navigation Key is blank. This is causing the problem.

This is the C2M functionality that is affected:

1) Admin - C - Characteristic Type and search for D1-SP and review. See FK Reference is D1-SP reviewed above). On Characteristic Entities tab, add an entry for "Case" if it is not already there.
2) Admin - C - Case Type and search and select an existing Case Type such as INQUIRY. Go to Case Characteristics tab and add a row for D1-SP characteristic type.
3) Main - Customer Information - Case - Search and search existing case with Case ID 1763146806, see it uses Case Type INQUIRY
4) On the bottom of the screen, enter a Characteristic Type "Service Point ID Characteristic Type" which is the label for D1-SP. Notice in the field to the right of it, the search button is inactive and there is no way to search for the SP.
