When trying to create a like item, after choosing an item to be created like, RMS shows the front end screen to choose the number type and new Oracle Retail Item Number.
This automatically generates a new number, but if the generated number is replaced with an already used number, then the screen is not validating in the back-end before allowing to continue.
Then, when hit OK button, the Error messages show up:
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
- Create an Item (with cost, supplier and retail by zone)
- Approve it
- Go Manage Item, Search for the item created above
- Create Like Item based on previous item created
- In the front end Create Like item Screen, Generate a new ID, substitute the generate by one already used.
Note: The Front end is not validating the ID as it does in other screen (Create Item, Create Children)
- Then Hit Ok.
Additionally, the Front End (Create Like item) is caching the data.
If fails showing the constraint message, then user actually re-generates a new ID, by hitting the OK is still showing constraint error and that is because is caching the first data of the screen.
Even all the Attributes Available to Be Copied are cached.
