Symptoms
When attempting to test the connection of a provider deployment, the following error occurs.
ERROR

Error in Connection. Verify connection parameters and try again.
The response was: Connection unsuccessful, please verify the XML configuration.
Unable to connect to the provider instance. Please verify connection details.
STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Log on Primavera Gateway.
2. Go to Configuration -> Deployment. Edit the Provider and test connection.
