Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Can OFSAA be configured using localhost when OFSAA and Web Server share the same server?

Is localhost allowed in place of the hostname for OFSAA Server configuration if both OFSAA and the Web Server reside on the same server?

hostname: ofsaaserver is where both OFSAA and Web Server are installed.

Current Configuration:
BASE_APP_IP ofsaaserver
BASE_DB_IP ofsaaserver
BASE_WEB_IP  << Load Balancer which routes traffic to Web Server

LocalHost Configuration:
BASE_APP_IP localhost
BASE_DB_IP localhost
BASE_WEB_IP  << Load Balancer which routes traffic to Web Server

This is required so no GlobalHostName is needed for OFSAA Server in Active/Passive mode.

1. Configuration is ServerA & ServerB in Active/Passive setup. Only one server active at a time.
2. OFSAA and Web Server are on the same server.
3. WebLoadBalancer is in front of Web Server directing traffic to the active server.
4. Web Server is communicating with OFSAA via localhost

Scenario 01:
-- ServerA is active & ServerB is passive
-- WebLoadBalancer is routing to ServerA Web Server
-- Web Server is communicating with OFSAA via localhost

Scenario 02:
-- ServerB is active & ServerA is passive
-- WebLoadBalancer is routing to ServerB Web Server
-- Web Server is communicating with OFSAA via localhost
