ALM BI Transformation Performance Issue / Executing INSERT Queries for up to Maximum Bucket Count (Doc ID 2544058.1)

Symptoms

On 8.0.5 version, there is performance issue in ALM BI Transformation PKG, which is taking more time than expected.

While studying ALM BI PKG, it was noticed that:

1. Insert statements for the FCT table are running in a loop 250 times, as maximum number of possible buckets is 250.

2. In given setup, Time Bucket configuration is as following:
  a. NII 37 buckets
  b. IRR 19 buckets
  c. LR 15 buckets

 

Therefore, since loop is running till 250 instead of 37 for NII, 19 for IRR and 15 for LR results, the time SQL takes to execute is increased by hours, even though there is no data for maximum buckets.
