CreateClients Attached Rule is not Inserting the OptionalText Information for Combo Fields (Doc ID 2548648.1)

Last updated on JUNE 04, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Insurance Policy Administration J2EE - Version 11.1.0.10 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On : 11.1.0.10 version, Client

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
When creating a new client entity using the CreateClients attached rule, the Combo type fields gent the TextValue inserted but not the OptionText information.
The main consequence of this is that when displaying these combo box information on the ClientSearchScreen results, the values displayed are the TextValue instead of the OptionText information.
Standard usage of the TextValue in Combo type fields is for AsCode code values, These are not user friendly in general and on top of that I require more than 10 characters to be displayed.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
Client Search Screen should display the description for the code stored in TextValue for Combo type fields.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Configure ClientSearchScreen to display a combo type field from AsClientField table in the result table
2. Configure an activity to create a new client entity (assigning a value to all the necessary fields including the combo type field referenced in the client search screen result table)
3. Use the activity configured above to create a new client entity (notice that the OptionTextFlag and the OptionText columns have not been populated for the combo type field on the created client entity
4. Search for the client in the Client Search Screen. Notice the column referencing the combo type client field displays the code instead of displaying the description.
