What datatype is suited to store XML files (Doc ID 2550992.1)

Goal

 We originally stored some XML file as LONG datatype in a table in the database.We then tried to retrieve the data using RQL query from the ATG repository that we've defined, but data seems to be truncated and corrupted. Is LONG datatype suited for large XML files?
