Web Workspace slow initial launch after patch/upgrade

Starting with our update to NMS, the time it takes a user to initially launch Web Workspace after this update has increased significantly.

The slowness appears to be from the extraction of thousands of additional files into %APPDATA%/.nms/cache/%HOST_ID% from nms-ide.jar containing an additional directory, "jet". For example, on one user's laptop, this extraction, which took roughly 10 seconds on, took nearly three minutes with

The problem persists with NMS What can be done to speed this up? Are all the additional files really necessary?
