Symptoms

On Applications Oracle Life Sciences Argus Safety Version : 8.1.2

Unable to transmit letter from Argus to configured email

Error(s)
AG Service for General E-Mail shows the below status:

<LAST_RUN_TIME>12-Jun-19 10:15:24</LAST_RUN_TIME>

<STATUS>Enterprise ABC : Could not send mail through SMTP for Email ID NNN. SMTP protocol error. 503 X.X.X Need Rcpt command.. 1 Emails Processed. 0 Success, 1 Failed.</STATUS>

Additionally in the AG service logs themselves for general e-mail we also see many iterations of the below

Could not send mail through SMTP for Email ID NN1. SMTP protocol error. 501 X.X.X Invalid Address.
Could not send mail through SMTP for Email ID NN2. SMTP protocol error. 501 X.X.X Invalid Address.
Could not send mail through SMTP for Email ID NN3. SMTP protocol error. 501 X.X.X Invalid Address.
Could not send mail through SMTP for Email ID NN4. SMTP protocol error. 501 X.X.X Invalid Address.
