Pin_recover Taking Long To Process

Goal
There was an incident wherein the BRM user needs to process 100k recover payments using pin_recover. But the process is running long and it looks like it will take for 7+ hrs.
So the question is whether pin_recover is an MTA app?
Looks like it is running in single threaded fashion. It is expected to run as a MTA (multi threaded application) to handle large volumes.
