Opening a Single or Two Phase Transformer Causes Upstream Three-Phase Conductor to Become Multistate (Doc ID 2558169.1)

Symptoms


Upstream conductors change from energized to multistate when downstream two or one phase switches are opened - even though no parallel is broken, or any other odd state is changed.

Operating any other switch in the feeder restores the correct coloring for those conductors.

The upstream conductors do not change state if a downstream 3-phase device is operated.


Upstream conductors should not have their state change when a downstream switch is opened (and a parallel is not broken).
